Integrative Oncology & Clinical Nutrition

Evidence-based nutrition support during cancer treatment and beyond

Personalised nutrition care to help you navigate cancer treatment, recovery and survivorship with greater confidence, while supporting your strength, wellbeing and long-term health

How can I support you?

WOMAN ON MOUNTAIN PEAK

I’m undergoing cancer treatment

Personalised nutrition support before and during chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, endocrine therapy, immunotherapy and targeted treatments.

3 WOMEN WITH HANDS UP

I’ve finished cancer treatment

Support your recovery and long-term health, including weight, metabolic health, bone health, muscle, gut health and nutrition after treatment.

I’m looking for personalised nutrition support

Evidence-informed clinical nutrition for metabolic health, women's health, gut health, healthy ageing and complex health concerns.

Oncology nutrition is about more than what you eat

Cancer and its treatment can affect appetite, weight, muscle, bone health, metabolic health, digestion, nutrient status and your relationship with food.

And then there are supplements.

Knowing what is useful, what is unnecessary and what may interact with treatment can be confusing.

My approach brings together your diet, symptoms, pathology, medications, treatment plan, lifestyle and supplements to create practical recommendations specific to you.

Key points

Personalised

Your recommendations are based on your individual treatment, health history, pathology, symptoms and goals.

Evidence-informed
Recommendations are guided by current research rather than cancer nutrition myths or restrictive diets.

Treatment-aware
Supplements and nutritional strategies are considered alongside your oncology treatment and medications.

Collaborative
Where appropriate, I communicate with your GP, oncologist and other members of your healthcare team.

Lisa Hanlon Nutrition

Hi, I’m Lisa

I'm a Clinical Nutritionist with a special interest in integrative oncology and cancer survivorship.

My work combines clinical nutrition, pathology and current research to help people make sense of nutrition during what can be an incredibly confusing time.

I support clients both during cancer treatment and in the months and years afterwards, with a particular interest in helping cancer survivors reduce longer-term metabolic and cardiovascular risk, maintain muscle and bone health, and feel confident about how they eat.

Research

Clinical Practice Informed By Research

Lisa's Master of Research at Western Sydney University examines how the Australian healthcare system can better prevent and manage weight gain following breast cancer treatment.

Her research explores the role of primary care in cancer survivorship and the barriers and opportunities for providing coordinated, accessible weight-management and survivorship care.

This research directly informs Lisa's approach to supporting people after cancer treatment.
