Lisa Hanlon, Integrative Clinical Nutritionist
Personalised Nutrition Solutions
As an integrative clinical nutritionist, I specialise in women's health and performance nutrition. I offer personalised nutrition consultations and bespoke nutrient compounding that help my clients manage weight gain, low mood, gut dysbiosis, skin issues, metabolic dysfunction, and hormonal imbalances.
I have a special interest in oncology support, especially since losing my sister Kim to melanoma in 2020. Her diagnosis inspired me to formally study nutrition! Along with my personal interest, my Master of Research thesis focuses on the optimal models of care for the prevention and management of weight gain in breast cancer survivors, an important yet often overlooked issue. Weight gain after breast cancer increases the risk of cancer recurrence, chronic disease, and impacts quality of life. For more information on this research, please visit here.
As an integrative nutritionist, I use dietary and lifestyle interventions, along with nutritional supplementation, while collaborating with mainstream medical practitioners like GPs and oncologists. I understand health from a medical perspective and utilise tools like blood tests and functional pathology to assess and treat the whole person. Merging Western medicine with a whole-body approach to nutrition allows me to offer a comprehensive perspective on your health and wellbeing.
What sets me apart in the nutrition industry is my ability to empathise with my clients. Having faced my own health challenges, I bring valuable lived experience to my practice, ensuring my clients benefit from both professional knowledge and personal insight. I’ve done the hard work and emerged stronger, now I’m here to help you do the same.
My passion for nutrition has been with me for as long as I can remember, but it really kicked in around a decade ago when I was diagnosed with premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) (early-onset menopause). I was 38 and although I saw numerous doctors, specialists, naturopaths, nutritionists and acupuncturists I wasn’t able to find any answers to help me through this phase, nor advice on how to prepare for life after menopause (including how to reduce risk factors related to bone, metabolic, cardiovasular and brain health that increase post-menopause).
I have spent the last decade researching the risk factors for women post-menopause, as well as how best for women to prepare for menopause and beyond for a long heathspan (living a long life full of health). The earlier you start the better shape your future self will be in.
I have a particular interest in diagnostics, using pathology results along with a detailed case history and working with GPs to ensure a truly integrative approach to health and wellbeing.
I would love to help you too!
