Integrative Oncology & Clinical Nutrition
Evidence-informed nutrition and lifestyle support through cancer treatment, recovery and beyond
Personalised nutrition and lifestyle support to help you navigate cancer treatment, build your health after cancer and feel more confident about what comes next
Personalised nutrition support across the cancer continuum
A cancer diagnosis can change what your body needs, during treatment and long after treatment has finished.
You may be wondering what to eat, whether supplements are safe, how to maintain your strength during treatment, or what you can do to support your long-term health and reduce future health risks.
I'm Lisa Hanlon, a degree-qualified Clinical Nutritionist with advanced training in integrative oncology and a Master of Research focused on cancer survivorship.
I provide evidence-informed, personalised nutrition support that considers your diagnosis, treatment, pathology, symptoms, medications, lifestyle and longer-term health.
My aim is to help you cut through conflicting nutrition information, understand what matters for you, and turn the evidence into practical strategies you can actually use.
How I can help
I’m undergoing cancer treatment
Cancer treatment can affect appetite, digestion, weight, muscle mass, energy, nutrient status and what you're able to eat.
Personalised nutrition support can help you maintain nutritional status, manage treatment-related symptoms and make informed decisions about food and supplements while working alongside your oncology team.
I’ve finished cancer treatment
Treatment may have finished, but your health needs haven't.
Survivorship nutrition can help address weight and body composition changes, fatigue, metabolic health, bone and cardiovascular health, gut health, menopausal changes and other longer-term effects of treatment.
Together, we can develop an evidence-informed plan to support your recovery and long-term health.
Individual Nutrition Consultations
Not looking for an ongoing program?
Individual nutrition consultations are available for people seeking personalised support for a specific health or nutrition concern, including oncology, women's health, metabolic health and general clinical nutrition.
Consultations are available in person at Next Practice Parramatta and via telehealth.
Looking for more comprehensive support?
Work with me
For people who want ongoing, personalised nutrition support during cancer treatment or survivorship, I work with a limited number of private clients through my structured programs.
Rather than receiving a single nutrition plan, we'll work together over time so your recommendations can evolve alongside your treatment, recovery, pathology and changing health priorities.
Programs start from $1,500. Payment plans are available.
My Approach
Evidence Informed. Personalised. Practical
There is no single diet that is right for every person affected by cancer.
My approach starts with understanding you: your health history, treatment, pathology, medications, diet, symptoms, lifestyle and goals, rather than applying a standard diet or supplement protocol.
ASSESS
Understand your health, nutritional needs, pathology and priorities.
PERSONALISE
Develop practical nutrition and lifestyle strategies specific to you.
ADAPT
Review your progress and refine your recommendations as your needs change.
Where appropriate and with your consent, I can also communicate with your GP, oncologist or other healthcare practitioners so your nutrition support complements your broader medical care.
About Lisa
Clinical nutrition informed by research
I'm Lisa Hanlon, a Sydney-based, degree-qualified Clinical Nutritionist with advanced training in integrative oncology and a Master of Research (under examination) from Western Sydney University.
Cancer survivorship is a particular focus of both my clinical and research work.
My research explored GP perspectives on preventing and managing weight gain following breast cancer, reflecting my broader interest in improving long-term health and survivorship care after cancer.
My interest in this area is also deeply personal. After losing my sister to melanoma in 2020, I saw firsthand some of the gaps people and families can experience across the cancer journey.
Today, my work brings together clinical nutrition, research and practical, individualised care to help people feel better supported through treatment and beyond.
